Apple has announced Iphone 6S and Iphone 6S Plus

The next Iphones will have 3D Touch, 12-megapixel cameras and a new color option.

Apple presented its two new smartphones at an event in San Fransisco yesterday. They look identical to the previous models, but comes in a new color called rose gold.

The most interesting news about the Iphone 6S and Iphone 6S Plus is a feature called 3D touch. By pressing lightly on an app you get access to a shortcut. For example, if you put a little bit of pressure on the Facebook-icon at you home screen, you’ll be able to post a picture or a status updated to your Facebook wall without having to open the app.

As expected, the Isight-cameras got an update. The rear camera is now 12-megapixels, and it can capture 4K videos. The front-facing camera is upgraded to 5 mp, and uses what Apple call Retina Flash, which means that the screen lights up to function as a flash.

The processor is also upgraded, and the A8 chip is now a 64-bit A9 chip with a new architecture that is suppose to make the phones significantly faster. According to Apple the A9 is 70 percent faster at CPU tasks and 90 percent faster at graphics compared to Iphone 6’s A8.

The new smartphones also includes faster Wi-Fi and LTE Advanced technologies for ultra-fast content streaming and downloads. They will support up to 23 LTE bands for better worldwide roaming.

Iphone 6S and 6S Plus comes in four color options: Silver, Space Gray, Gold and the new Rose Gold. Speaking of colors, it seems like Apple has removed to Gold option from the older Iphones.

The release date for the new smartphones is September 25th.
