Twitter raised the maximum amount of people you’re allowed to follow from 2,000 to 3,000 this week. Why Twitter suddenly decided to make this change has not been explained, but it could have something to do with the new anti-spam tool that will eliminate bots.

It should be noted that you could follow more than 2,000 users before, but only if you had a large amount of followers to even out the ratio.
